10 Billion Video Streams in January
Nielsen released its January VideoCensus data yesterday, and the results are in...
We've broken the 10 billion video streams mark !!!
That's a 9% lift in streams, baby !
I'm sure the live-streaming of President Obama's inauguration helped break the record, so I'd be interested to see if February and March return to 2008 levels.
Either way, be sure to celebrate this historic achievement with a commemorative "10 Billion Video Streams" shirt for your dog (while supplies last):

Taking a further dive into the sites responsible for these record breaking streams, we can see that YouTube still holds the lion's share of action:

Yahoo comes in (a so distant you can barely see them) second place with sites like hulu and CNN also noticing some increases over previous months. CNN's streaming of the Presidential Inauguration may have been the reason for their bump. While Hulu had inauguration streams plus a super bowl commercial to help get their streams flowin.
All in all some great information from Nielsen, and a great t-shirt for your dog !
